Google Authenticator App Reviews

Just ok, but needs some serious feature updates...

This is just ok. It does the trick but needs some serious feature updates: -You cannot backup your list, so if you switch phones, you may lose all your codes and have to reset/relink all your services which is a huge pain. -You cannot edit the service name of an authentication code, its uneditable, even when entering new service auth code manually which is frustrating because some QR codes are blank for the auth code service name. -The app does not support images/app/service icons. -This app doesnt allow syncing across multiple devices (maybe beside the purpose) but it would be nice to have my services the same on my iPhone and iPad. -Finally, a syncable Mac app would be nice too!

Terrible

Its a shame google would make such a terrible product. I cant explain how frustrating it is to have a new phone and no way to restore all of your previous accounts. Im now locked out of many of my accounts because I relied on this app.

Its not letting me login to my uplay

The codes arent working:(

Love the Idea but the App Glitches

When I scan the QR code for a new account it loads the account into the app twice. Also it wont allow me to edit anything until I close the app out and open it again.

Passcode add

Please add the option to have a passcode to reveal the codes.

Terrible app

Hard to use and navigate. Not user friendly at all. Makes it impossible to log into accounts that utilize two factor authentication.

Does not provide info needed for setup

There are no instructions that I could fine telling me he had to set up the app. The instructions ask for a key or for me to scan a barcode, but neither are provided. I could not find instructions online either.

IMPOSSIBLE TO RECOVER MY ACCOUNT

NEW PHONE NUMBER AND NEW PHONE, NOW ITS LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SIGN INTO MY ACCOUNT ON MY NEW PHONE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE ACCESS TO SAID ACCOUNT ON MY OLD PHONE. EXTREMELY UPSETTING AND FRUSTRATING.

It is a piece of crap

I lost all of my Facebook, gmail and other accounts after update.

2FA

This app is useful if you only need it for a handful of things. If you want to use a very long list of accounts with an Authenticator though, youre probably better off with Authy. (I only use this for a few things, so it doesnt matter to me) Also if you use Authy, you dont have to remove accounts and re-add them each time you get a new phone. I dont get a new phone very often, so this doesnt really make a difference for me. It would be slightly more convenient, but I dont feel its necessary (for me) to switch.

Too many apps!

Can you please consolidate your products? This could very well be a part of the plain old Google app, which you can already use to click "yes" to sign in to your account, therefore it makes sense that the Google app would be the home of all dual authentication methods.

What if I lose my phone?

I recently discovered authy which lets me sync codes to multiple devices. I dont see a way to do this with Google Authenticator and Im too afraid Ill get locked out of some accounts if I lose my phone.

Works great

This app works just as it supposed to. All the negative comments is just the people who accidentally turned on two step verification and are not very good with security

Warning

Will erase all links to your account.. Youll have to do it all over again..

Great for adding an extra layer of security / needs iPad version though

iPad version please!

Handy , but have feedback !

This is really handy and I used for my personal and professional two-step verifications. However, I believe they could have some update. First, when requiring a passcode, I would love that the app auto populate or sent a notification with the temporary code. Also, syncing all code with a master password, though the account will be really handy. And the last one, a desktop (OS X) app will make my life so easier, I guess for a security layer, the apps should only work when the Phone is connected with the desktop on Bluetooth 4.0.

Why cellular data???

Why does this app request access to cellular data? This defeats the purpose of obtaining auth codes even without network access (yes, the situation does happen). I blocked cellular data in iOS settings, the app still works but will issue a warning every time. Why? This raises disturbing worries regarding usage of network by the app (data leak?) and whether it will be able to provide valid codes even without network access. We need another 2-factor Auth app, relying exclusively on Google is dangerous at best.

!!!

I used to like it.... when it was working. :( impossible to find the barcode to scan since the product has been updated

3D Touch ?

3D Touch support would be awesome to retrieve the codes directly from the Dashboard.

Great app

Great app but should have a master password. Ótimo app mas deveria ter uma senha mestra.
