You can’t even backup all your codes. My phone broke and was unable to access any of the apps. I had to manually reset all my accounts to set up g2fa and still trying to get access to one of my accounts because of this horrible app. I mean it’s 2017 going on 2018 where security is a major part of our lives yet this app can’t deliver. People have many accounts with 2FA. The least you can do is have an option to download a back up key so you can restore them when you get a new phone. Take a look at the authy app. This is what this app is suppose to be. Disappointed.
Google Authenticator App Reviews
A year since last updated?
This is ridiculous how long it’s been since google has updated this app. This truly shows how serious the company is in regards to security. Please update ASAP with touchID/FaceID support and iPhoneX support.
Severe Problems!
Like many others, this app has severely put a hold on my business. I recently transferred to a new iPhone, restored my new phone from my backup, and Google Authenticator completely erased all of my accounts that were linked to it. Instead of offering a feature that would allow me to transfer all of my accounts over to my new phone, I now have to contact each site one by one to reset my 2FA. Totally unnecessary and overlooked by Google. Not happy!!!!!!!!
Great!!
So far it works perfectly fine! I haven’t had any issues and I’ve been using it for 7 months.
Does what its supposed to
This is a good app for what it does.
If you understand what it is, it works very well
Im astonished at the number of negative reviews showing people dont understand what a token generator is. One reviewer even wanted to be able to save a list of codes. SMH. Some want more options. Folks, this app generates numbers - one at a time - that have a lifespan of one minute. Thats all it does. Thats all you want it to do. There are no more features to add, aside from the existing capability to use it on multiple accounts and sites, which is fantastic. You cant back them up! If you could back it up you would destroy the whole purpose of having it. If you want backups or more features, you need to go research what this thing is. Seriously!
iPhone X support
Add iPhone X support please
Use Authy!
I’ve lost all of authentication tokens when my iPhone was erased. I Use Authy! It’s the best app that saves all of your authentication tokens. You will not lose your authentications tokens if you changed phones, did factory resetting. Don’t trust Google until Google can saves your authentication tokens. It’s free !
What the heck
What is going on with this useless app??
I NEED HELP AND THERE IS NO SUPPORT NUMBER TO CALL
My phone totally died after an accident and I lost all my codes to my bitcoin and other accounts!!!! How can I get access back to my Authenticator so I can regain access to these accounts??? HELP
Worked
Idk why people dont like this, it works perfectly
No TouchID Support! :(
Honestly, this feature is absolutely essential to security. Even if I have my phone protected, I want this important security app protected at another layer.
Insane that you can’t transfer to a new phone
Adding my voice to the choir-how is google neglecting the use case of transferring to a new phone?
Please, can you create a way to back up your codes?
There should be a way to save the list of codes as a backup, or for export to a new phone.
Bad
I have to reset all the settings. I can not retrieve the code, Im missing my accounts. I hope to communicate with the technical support?
Bad
It doesnt support iPhone x screen
untrustworthy
The app got restarted and deleted all of my data when I moved it onto a new phone, which didn’t seem all that bad until I tried to log in on my new phone and discovered that none of my stuff had gotten saved onto a server or anything. Now I have like 4 different websites and accounts that I’ll probably just never be able to log into ever again because they were hooked up to this stupid app!
So bad
Horrible
No backup
I agree with other users. There’s no way to backup your configuration, sync to another phone or account or anything. If you lose or upgrade your phone, all your 2FA settings are gone.
Works with the iPhone X
Works pretty well
