Apparently they dont care since this does not make Google any money

An app that is supposed to live long term with you should not lack this. It is not like a crappy game that I dont care if the progress is saved. I enabled iCloud backup of my phone before switching to a new phone for one reason and one reason only, that is to preserve my codes in the Authenticator, and it fails me.

This does not make Google money but it is truly important to the user. If you really care, fix this.
